search Apple customers in India have been sent medium to high-severity alerts by CERT, the national nodal organization for cybersecurity-related concerns. The CIA has discovered vulnerabilities in Macintosh computers, search Apple Watches, and Apple televisions that, if abused, may provide an attacker “access to sensitive information.”

The agency inside the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) recommends users promptly update their software. CERT-official In’s website contains the government alerts released between March 31 and April 3.

On Macs, Apple’s exclusive Safari web browser contains vulnerabilities. The WebKit component has “inadequate state management,” according to CERT-In. The alert further states, “A remote attacker might exploit these vulnerabilities by convincing a victim to visit a specially constructed web page.” It goes without saying that sensitive information might be retrieved if the user provides information. Users must upgrade to Safari version 16.4. To update the web browser, launch the search Apple App Store desktop application, click Updates in the App Store toolbar, and then use the Update buttons to download and install any updates shown.

Similarly, Mac users should upgrade to the latest version of MacOS to safeguard their security. According to the government, these vulnerabilities impact systems running macOS Ventura versions earlier than 13.3, macOS Big Sur versions earlier than 11.7.5, and macOS Monterey versions earlier than 12.6.4. Moreover, search Apple Watches and Apple TVs have been shown to contain many flaws. Several vulnerabilities exist in Apple tvOS and watchOS devices owing to issues according to CERT-In. A successful exploit of these vulnerabilities might allow an attacker to circumvent privacy settings, run arbitrary code with kernel privileges to obtain access to sensitive data and impersonate the user interface of the targeted system.
