The information presented in the 2022-2023 U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges rankings and directory was collected during the spring and summer of 2022 via U.S. News’ annual online statistical survey of colleges.
Before contacting U.S. News to request a change to the directory or other college data, please contact your school’s institutional research office or the equivalent office on your campus that fills out external surveys to coordinate a change request. The person(s) who completed the annual Best Colleges statistical survey should then review the data in question and, if necessary, contact us to request a change.
Requests for data changes: Change requests must be submitted using the actual survey page on which the data in question appears. Mark the correction, scan the corrected page and email a PDF to usnews-data-collection@usnews.com. Requests received on forms other than the actual survey page will not be processed.
Updating the online directory and other college data once the surveys have gone through the verification process is time-consuming. Corrections normally take about four to eight weeks to implement. We appreciate your patience.
Requests for unpublished Best Colleges ranking information: To request a detailed report that breaks down your school’s ranking and has some unpublished information, email usnews-data-collection@usnews.com. Please specify which ranking list(s) you are inquiring about.
U.S. News will accept these rankings requests only from the following university officials: the director of admissions, the director of financial aid, the head of public relations, the head of institutional research, the U.S. News statistical survey respondents, the president’s office or the provost’s office. Only unpublished rankings from the current edition and the 2022 edition are available.
